EFCC Arrests Impersonators Of Nigerian Actor, Fredrick Leonard (Images)

Two suspects have been arrested by the operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee.

They have been arrested for impersonation and fraud.

This was made identified by the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee on Friday on its Twitter web page.

The fee revealed that the suspects, Charles Osaigbovo and Evans Obayaedo, have been arrested following a petition written by a British nationwide.

 The assertion learn, “Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, have arrested the duo of Charles Osaigbovo and Evans Obayaedo, who impersonated Nigerian actor and film producer, Fredrick Leonard, for his or her alleged involvement in love rip-off, computer-related fraud and acquiring cash underneath false pretence to the tune of £38,000.

“The suspects have been arrested, following a petition written by a British nationwide, towards Leonard,.The petitioner alleged that she met Leonard on the social media platform, TikTok, and later grew to become lovers. She additionally alleged that Leonard approached her with a proposal to spend money on a movie manufacturing. 

“In response to her, a sum of £38,000 was transferred to the suspects as funding within the purported movie manufacturing. She petitioned the EFCC after she realised she had been duped and all efforts to recuperate her cash yielded no consequence. Investigations revealed that the suspects, who have been later arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, had been impersonating Leonard to defraud unsuspecting individuals on social media. 

“The suspects will probably be charged to courtroom as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
