BREAKING: Supreme Courtroom Dismisses PDP’s Swimsuit Towards Tinubu, Shettima Over Double Nomination

A five-member panel of the supreme courtroom held on Friday that the Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP) lacked the locus standi to institute the swimsuit.

 

The swimsuit looking for the disqualification of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been dismissed by the Supreme Courtroom.

A five-member panel of the supreme courtroom held on Friday that the Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP) lacked the locus standi to institute the swimsuit.

The panel stated the PDP shouldn’t be a member of the APC.

The PDP had claimed that Shettima’s nomination as Tinubu’s working mate was in breach of the provisions of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

The opposition occasion argued that Shettima’s nomination to contest the place of vice-president and Borno central senatorial seat — on the similar time — contravened the regulation.
